How credits work
Each generation in the web studio uses credits:

In the Mac app (public build coming soon), you generate images through your own Codex setup or image API and pay that provider directly. You can also generate 5-second videos with Seedance, and once saved they're managed in the library alongside your images. See GenTidy for Mac.
Sharing one account and credit balance between the Mac app and the web studio is coming soon.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use GenTidy for free? Yes. Browsing layouts and styles on the homepage, combining and copying prompts, and downloading reference images are free and need no account. Generating images or videos needs an account and credits.
When can I subscribe? Checkout isn't open yet. Pricing will be announced when checkout opens.
How many credits does a generation use? A 2K image uses 10 credits and a 5-second 720p video uses 80 credits.
Do I need credits to use the Mac app? The Mac app generates images through your own Codex setup or a custom OpenAI-compatible image API, which you pay for with that provider. You can also generate 5-second videos with Seedance, and once saved they're managed in the library alongside your images. Cloud mode in the Mac app runs through your GenTidy account; shared credits with the web are coming soon. Public build coming soon.
